And A-Thinking We Will Go . . .
So, weeks ago, Amanda at Hidden Art awarded me this:
I am honored. So sorry it took me so long to acknowledge the award and offer my thanks. What can I say? I am slow. Does that make me a slow thinker? LOL!
It seems that the rules of accepting this award state that I will pass it on to five bloggers who make me think. Oh my! Just five? Ok, I am going to narrow the playing field by only choosing women bloggers. Sorry guys. It’s not that you don’t make me think but I’d like to honor the voice of women.
She’s probably going to kill me for this, but my first award goes to Joy at My Emerging Faith. She doesn’t post as often as she should but when she does post it always stirs up the thoughts in my head. She is one of the smartest women that I know with an amazing ability to make the knowledge she has acquired accessible. I wish she would post some more of her five dollar word definitions. (hint, hint!) Favorite recent post: I Forgive You Even Though You Are Dead Wrong.
Next is Erin at Decompressing Faith who usually seems to be reading my life from across the country. If you lined us up side by side, there are amazing parallels between two people who don’t necessarily share a lot in common. Her questions and conclusions always challenge me to dig below the surface, take out my magnifying glass and have a closer look. Favorite Recent Post: Prayer … or Not?
I can’t remember where I first met Jennifer at Passing Through; whether she had commented here or I had first read her comments on Kent’s blog. (btw, if I were awarding men, Kent would be at the top of the list. I am so happy that I got to work him into my list!). Regardless, she was added to my Google Reader immediately. She is intellectual and poetic at the same time. I can chew on her words all day. Favorite Recent Post: Labels
Tia Lynn at Abandon Image is a fairly new read of mine. Not only does she write her own challenging posts, she finds thought provocative material online and shares it. Rarely do I leave her blog without having a transformation of thought and facing the work of applying action to the words. Favorite Recent Post: Environmentalism: Dirty Word?
My newest addition is The Happiness Project with Gretchen Rubin. Lately, I have been keenly aware of how people don’t choose to be happy, don’t do the things that would bring happiness into their lives. Lately, I have been keenly aware of this about myself. Gretchen’s tips, recommendations and questions are urging me toward more happiness in my life. Favorite Recent Post: How Can You Have More Fun?
So, dear winners, if you’d like, write a post linking to five blogs that make you think.
Happy thinking!

Thanks for the mention Cynthia. Awarding these women is much more appropriate though and Joy is a wonderful choice. Courageous she is.
One of my favorite descriptions to descibed what I see happening in many people today(you included)comes from the REM song, Walk Unafraid: Courageous Stumbling
Isn’t amazing the things that have began to open up to you?
To quote another great actress… “I haven’t had an orthodox career, and I’ve wanted more than anything to have your respect. … I can’t deny the fact that you like me, right now, you like me!”
I love you, Sister! I am honored and humbled… as I believe YOU are one of the smartest women I have ever known!! Hands down! You make me think inside out, backwards and upside down!
Aww thanks! You are too kind. I agree about our similar spirits…it’s been a joy to know you!
Thank you Cynthia! Like Joy, I am honored and humbled and also challenged to know someone actually likes what I write. YOU definitely deserve the award!
